Floods Impact and Interventions, 2024

"Intense rainfall has brought widespread devastation to several regions in Kenya, spanning from the Coastal area to Central areas including Nairobi, the Western Highlands, Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, South-eastern lowlands, and North-eastern regions.

Since the onset of the March-April-May (MAM) rains, numerous counties have borne the brunt of its impact, leading to significant challenges for households, displacements, the establishment of displacement camps, submersion of arable land, disruptions to businesses, and loss of livestock.

In response to these pressing circumstances, Wema Nafsi has taken proactive measures to address the mental health needs arising from the flood crisis. Our team is poised to deliver timely and sensitive support to individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, and distress as a result of the floods.
